Pluto Systems is seeking for experienced and analytical Web  Developers who specializes in providing services related to the creation, design, and maintenance of websites. 

This role will involve working remotely with the website committee to understand the business needs, goals, and target audience to develop effective, visually appealing and technically proficient web solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Coding and Development: Use programming languages (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript or  jQuery , php and mySQL ) to implement the design and develop the functional aspects of the website.

Project Planning: Develop project plans outlining the scope, timeline, and resources required for the design and development of the website.

Content Management: Build content management systems (CMS) to make for update and management of website content easily.

SEO Integration: Optimize website for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and reach. This involves using relevant keywords, Meta tags, and optimizing content for search engine algorithms.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of websites to ensure functionality, responsiveness, and compatibility across different web browsers and devices.

Security Measures: Ensure website’s security by implementing the relevant updates and patches to protect donor information, sensitive data, and users from potential threats.

Social-media Integration and a chat feature: be able to  integrated social media handles such as Facebook, Twitter, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram etc. to reflect activities and coverage.

Be able to Include a chat feature on websites for direct engagement.

Compliance: Ensure that website complies with relevant regulations and accessibility standards, making it usable for all users, including those with disabilities.

Analytics: Set up analytics tools to track website traffic, user behavior, and engagement metrics. This tool should be able to analyze data to make informed decisions for website improvements and content strategies.

Embed payment gateway / API and make  Donation Portal: Implement secure and user-friendly donation portals or fundraising tools, making it easy for users to initiate payment and or donations.

Documentation: Provide in-depth documentation containing all the relevant wireframes, website structure and hierarchy, code bases, API documentation and login information. and well as

Client Training:  be able to conduct training virtually on both web development and how to use and maintain a  website, including content updates, best practices, and basic troubleshooting. 

Upgrade or update existing website in both functionalities and populating with content. 

Job Qualifications

Education: minimum of WAEC backed with certifications in iCT courses  , A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in website development

Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript / jQuery.

Knowledge of  various frameworks (e.g., laravel, React, Angular, Vue.js, Django, Express, Flask).  Will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of server-side languages basically  PHP.  other languages such as Python, NodeJS or Ruby  will be added advantage.

Good experience with MySQL databases. Knowledge of  MongoDB will be added  advantage. 

Responsive Design and Mobile Development: Experience in creating websites that are mobile-friendly and responsive across different devices and screen sizes.

Version Control Systems: Proficiency in using version control systems like GIT, Bitbucket, GitLab for collaborative development and code management will be an added advantage. 

Payment Gateway Integration: Experience in integrating payment gateways into websites for online transactions is paramount. 

SEO and Performance Optimization: Understanding of SEO principles and practices to optimize websites for search engines. Knowledge of performance optimization techniques to ensure fast-loading websites.

Problem-solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues, debug code efficiently, and find solutions to technical challenges.

Portfolio and Projects: Strong portfolio showcasing previous projects (GitHub URL), demonstrating skills, creativity, and versatility in web development. Real-world experience in building and deploying websites for clients or projects is highly valued.

Client Interaction and Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, understand their requirements, and translate them into technical solutions. Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
